"Cat In The Hat" and "How The Grinch Stole Christmas"

Materials You Will Need:
-Foam doorknob hangers
-Glue or glue dots
-Tag board
-Crayons or Markers
-Scissors
-Glitter letters








For the art activity using  the books "The Cat In The Hat" and "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" we made door hangers. You can get the template HERE. The template has a picture of the Cat in the Hat for one side and the Grinch for the other. For the activity I let the children color the picture. After they were done coloring I let them pick out a foam door hanger.  I added my own twist to this activity. After the children had colored and cut out the picture we used glue dots to put it on tagboard. After it was glued to the tagboard we cut it out again, and then finally glued it to the foam doorknob hanger. Then to add a little bit of a wow factor I had them put their names on the doorknob hangers using self adhesive foam glitter letters. You never want to miss a chance to use glitter.
