"The Foot Book"

 Materials You Will Need:
-Different colors of paint
-Poster board or butcher's paper
-Containers for the paint
-Paintbrush sponges
-Baby wipes

I started my Dr. Seuss based art lessons, with my all-time favorite Dr. Seuss book. That book is titled, "The Foot Book". I actually had to do this art lesson twice. The first time I dumped paint into flat containers and had the children step into the paint then onto the poster board. I have scanned in the results of the first attempt at this art lesson.
I definitely didn't like the result of doing the lesson that way so I went back to the drawing board to think of a different way to do this art lesson. I came up with, have the children sit in a chair, pick the color of paper they wanted, and then sponge the paint onto the children's feet and then have them step down onto the piece of paper. Here are the results of the second time we did the footprints.
SUCCESS! With using the sponging technique their footprint came out much clearer, and there wasn't as much of a mess to clean up. This technique worked so well that I used it more than once.

I took the picture of the book "The Foot Book" from Google Images. I used the scanner and pictures as my technologies for this post.
